The Mississippi Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention Consortium created by Attorney General Jim Hood visits Lincoln County.

“I created this consortium so our residents dealing with foreclosure issues could get free counseling and legal assistance, including re-financing and loan modification assistance,” said Attorney General Hood.  “I hope by taking the Consortium across the state that we can better help folks.”

Attorneys and financial counselors with the partnering members of the Consortium will be available to meet one on one with consumers at the Pike National Bank at 70

The 2011 Ole Brook Festival is set for Oct. 7 and 8 in downtown Brookhaven.

The 37th annual festival will offer music, food and fun for the whole family.

The event is 6-9 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m - 8 p.m.

Brookhaven Elementary School will have open house Tuesday, Sept. 20, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

This is a time to visit teachers, classrooms and get information about the school year.
