JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Monday, the Mississippi Department of Health reported three new human West Nile virus cases, including one in Lincoln County. Ten cases of WNV and one death have been reported in Lincoln County so far this year.

Across the state, a record 236 cases of West Nile virus and five deaths have been reported this year.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Monday, the Mississippi Department of Health reported 8 new human West Nile virus cases, including one in Lincoln County. Nine cases of WNV and one death have been reported in Lincoln County so far this year.

Across the state, a record 233 cases of West Nile virus and five deaths have been reported this year.

Across the state, 186 cases of West Nile virus and four deaths have been reported this year.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Monday, the Mississippi Department of Health reported 10 new West Nile virus cases, including two in Lincoln County.

So far this year, 95 cases of West Nile virus have been reported and two deaths.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Thursday, the Mississippi Department of Health reported the state's second West Nile virus death of the year and 9 new human cases of the virus.

The death occured in Lincoln County, according to the department of health.

So far this year, 85 cases of West Nile virus have been reported. Lincoln County has had six reported cases.

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Monday, the Mississippi Department of Health announced 17 new human cases of West Nile virus, including one in Lincoln County.

So far this year, 76 cases of West Nile virus have been reported and one death.

In 2011, Mississippi had 52 WNV cases and five deaths.

The Mississippi State Department of Health recommends the following precautions to reduce the risk of contracting WNV:

  • Remove sources of standing water, especially after rainfall.
