Ag & Bio-Tech Academy Coming To Loyd Star

Loyd Star Attendance Center, along with the Lincoln County School District, and Copiah-Lincoln Community College are proud to announce the creation and opening of the Loyd Star Agricultural and Bio-technical Academy starting in the Fall of 2013.

The only one of its kind in the state of Mississippi, the Agricultural and Biotechnical Academy will be located on the Loyd Star campus and enable students to focus in areas of study including Agricultural Feedstock and Chemicals, Bioscience-related Distribution, Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and Equipment, and Research, Testing

Lincoln Co. Wildlife Expo this weekend

The annual Lincoln County Wildlife Expo is this weekend, Sept. 14 and 15, at the Lincoln Civic Center.

The Lincoln Civic Center is located at 1096 Beltline Drive NW in Brookhaven.

The Expo hours are:

Friday, Sept. 14 - 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 15 - 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Admission Fees:

Adults (13 and up) $5
Children (7-12) $3
Children (6 and under): Free

'Bully' filmmaker to film stories for next movie in Crystal Springs

Filmmaker Elliot London will be in Crystal Springs Sunday filming stories for his upcoming movie "Friend."

The creator of "Bully" discovered the activities youth in Crystal Springs were doing to raise awareness about bullying through the internet.

Loyd Star Students Bring Christmas Joy Around Town

On Dec. 6, the Loyd Star High School Choir and Tuba Quartet brought some Christmas cheer to several businesses and establishments in Brookhaven, starting at the Lincoln County Central Office and continuing to Trustmark Bank, Countrybrook Nursing Home and the Juvenile Rehabilitation Center.
